Cruelty-Free & Vegan Makeup Brands

Cruelty-Free & Vegan Makeup Brands

I admire those that choose a vegan diet. I’ve made a few attempts at cutting out all animal products but felt overwhelmed with information, my food options were super limited or my body felt weak. [If anyone has any suggestions to transition, please let me know!] Based on my limited experience, it takes a lot of discipline, planning and knowledge of what animal products are in food. However, whether you are vegan or not, consider choosing cruelty-free or vegan in other aspects in your life like in the makeup that you wear for example. This, for me, is a much easier transition!

Do you believe that no cruelty-free and vegan makeup brands exist? That is definitely wrong because there are actually numerous brands that offer their products at good prices. These brands are widely available over the web or at brick-and-mortar drugstores and cosmetics shops. The following companies are some leading cruelty-free makeup brands that are currently available. I also highlight their vegan collections and products.

KVD Vegan Beauty

KVD Vegan Beauty is a highly versatile makeup line founded by Kat Von D, a famous American tattoo artist, model and entrepreneur. Now, the company is owned by Kendo Brands. Starting with just 4 lipsticks in 2008, KVD Vegan Beauty is now a full fledged 100% vegan beauty line. In fact, they have worked to replace all the animal products (even insects) with plant alternatives. Beeswax, a common ingredient in mascara is replaced with plant-based fats in their KVDVB Go Big or Go Home Vegan Mascara. Their Tattoo Liner was awarded their Allure’s Best in Beauty 2018 winner to help with that perfect cat eye look.

Products are fairly priced and high quality. They offer a wide selection of makeup for lips, eyes and face with a variety of colors from nudes and neutrals to colorful and bold items. KVD Beauty also makes charitable donations to animal advocacy organizations.

These makeup companies are a testament that you can look good and feel good too! You may find some other brands of makeup products that offer 100% cruelty-free and vegan-friendly products. If you do, please let me know. I’d love to learn about more companies choosing to offer products that are beautiful while being kind to animals!
